Well baby....

We made it halfway today. It is a great feeling. Kind of scary though too. We only have about 5 months to finish getting everything together. I think we will make it though. We have got all of your bedding and the room painted. I guess the next big step is to get the furniture and to get daddy to bring all those things your Aunt Kelley is giving you from your cousins. I went to the Dr. last Friday and had another ultrasound. This was the big one-the one I have been worried about. They measured everything from your brain to your skin. Everything looked great. The only thing they couldn't see yet was your heart chambers because you wouldn't turn the right way. I was nearly standing on my head trying to get you to move so that they could see it but you weren't having any of it. After it was done, the Dr. came in and said that everything was good and that he would look at your heart the next time we come in, but that we shouldn't worry because it was just the way you were positioned. They have every reason to believe that you are just fine. Your heartbeat was 153.
Well, keep hanging in there my little man. Next time we go to have a sonogram I'm going to have a long talk with you the day before so that you will cooperate a little more. (Don't worry, you will get used to my speeches, daddy already has). I love you my little munchkin. Daddy calls you a monkey already, just like he calls your brother that. He's going to be writing to you soon.
Oh and I talked to your Grandpa through email yesterday. He asked if I have felt you move yet and asked how you were doing.
I told him that you were doing well but that I haven't felt you move yet. (The Dr. said that was normal too).
I keep waiting to feel you move. I will let you know as soon as I do. I placed some pictures on here from your sonogram. This technician says you are a shy boy!

Almost finished painting

Parker-
Your room is coming together just fine. I was a little worried it looked pink at first but as it dried, it turned into a nice tan color. It is going to match your bedroom stuff very well. Mr Tom worked hard painting it and Mr. Donnie came in today and put new baseboard heater covers on. It is almost time for them to come in and pick up everything. See the pictures I put on here.

Your new room!

Well Parker-
I worked all weekend to get your room ready. Daddy is working down in Louisiana and we sure do miss him, especially on days like this weekend when there is a lot of work to do. I threw out and donated about 14 bags of clothes and junk to make room for you in the spare room. The nice maintenance men at the college came last week and moved all the furniture to Kas' apartment so that we would have room for your baby furniture. The painter came in today and I showed him what color we were going to paint your wall. He is going to come back tomorrow to get started. He said it would take about three days to get everything painted. I'll try to get a few pictures of him painting your room. I hope you like the patter we picked out.

Your first rattle!

Your Mawmaw Sissy bought your first rattle. She said she bought it in red before we knew if you were a boy or a girl. She knew red would work either way. She is so very excited for you, even though you will make her 10th grandson. At easter, I kept looking at all those boys playing so rough. I hope I am ready for you to get that dirty. Just for now, I am going to keep you safe with me.

Your big brother Trey!

Trey is so very excited you are a boy. When we called him, he said "That is FANTASTIC!" He said he can't wait to meet you and take care of you. When I talk to him on the phone, he asks about you and asks how you are doing. Did I mention he is excited that you are a boy??? He thought we should name you Jerry. We decided that wasn't the best name for you but we entertained him just fine. When I ask Trey what he wants me to tell the baby he always says, Tell him I love him and can't wait to see him. Trey is going to take really good care of you. He also has some pretty cool toys that I bet he will share with you.

Your Name is.....Parker McKay Nicholas!

Finally, my little man has a name. Parker McKay Nicholas. Right after your Mawmaw Betty. She sure was excited Easter when we told her that. She has 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and you are the first to be named after her. It is her maiden name.
But coming up with a name for you was not easy! Daddy and I have been talking about boy baby names since before we were married. I knew this was going to be our biggest argument. He liked very taditional, very southern names and I liked more upbeat modern names. We must have gone through hundreds of names!
This is how we got your name. When we were on our way home from finding out you were a boy, your mawmaw Sissy said, how about the name Parker. I said Oh! I love that name and daddy wasn't so sure.
Later that night we were going round and round what your name should be. I told daddy that I couldn't rest until our little bean had a name. The next morning, I told daddy, if I can name him Parker McKay, I would agree never to put you in a smocked outfit. Daddy immediately agreed. Your name fits you. Parker McKay Nicholas.
I keep thinking that sounds like a good name. I started telling people your name and they love it too.
I can't wait to put a face with that name!

Our first shopping trip for you!

Well, me and your Meymey and MawMaw Betty went shopping for you today. Mawmaw Betty bought your first outfits for you. We also registered at Babies R Us and at Baby Depot so that we can get all the things you need. We found the perfect bedding set for you and I couldn't wait to get it because I was scared they would sell out of it. So your Meymey and Mawmaw Betty bought all of the stuff for your room that Baby Depot had. I still had to get a few more things for you in Pennsylvania. All in all we had a busy day and it was all centered around you.
After registering and shopping all day, I told Meymey to stop by the Purple and Gold sports store. We had to get you your first LSU shirt and hat. I do hope you are as much as a tiger fan as I am. I hope these Yankees don't get to you too soon! I'll keep them at bay as long as I can. I posted some pictures of some things we bought for you. I do hope you like them.

Its a...............

Boy!
Yep, no mistaking (According to the sonogram technician, she would bet money on it). Let me back up so you get the full picture of the day.
We had decided to wait and see what you were going to be until we went home for easter so that your relatives could be there to share in our excitement. Late this after noon at 5:00 we all met at First Glimpse in Baton Rouge. Me, daddy, meymey, and mawmaw sissy all rode together. We met up with your Aunt Kelley who had your cousins Brittany and Maverick with her.
When we got there, the technician led me and daddy into a room by ourselves. There was a big table there and I had to climb up a ladder to get on it. The technician got me ready and when I was set and in place, she put daddy in front of a monitor so that he could see you real clearly. Then, he went and got everyone else and they sat on couches and looked at a big screen tv.
At first she couldn't see you too well. Then we saw your heartbeat which was 156. I saw a black mark on your stomach and I got worried and asked her what it was. She said that was good cause it meant that your bladder and stomach was working. She tried to push you over and then out of no where she said, "I think I see the tip of a boy part." I was in shock! Daddy and I had convinced ourselves that you were a girl. She said, wait, I need a closer look. She had me roll on my side so that she could get a better view. Then she said, Yep! That is definately a penis. I then said, are you sure? And moments later you grabbed your male parts and the technician said that that was definately confirmation.
Your cousin Maverick climbed up on the steps and said "I see it, I see it" and then he looked at me and said "Ashley, how you going to get that out of there?" He was excited you were a boy.
Well, you will have lots of kids to play with. You have 11 boy cousins and 4 girl cousins. Not to mention a big brother who I will post more information about in a bit.
Well, you were definately a boy! We were excited. We all went to Don's in Baton Rouge to celebrate. I was in shock most of the meal. We called everyone else to let them know what you were. They were happy too.
So now we will gear up for our baby boy.
